seton says: If I remember correctly, this carre is adapted from a bookplate (hence “Ex Libris”) designed by minor 19th Century French painter Alfred de Dreux (yes, the subject of the 1993 Hermes carre of the same name), a favorite of Emile Hermes. Emile Hermes was, of course, the head of Hermes at that time. In fact, it is his intials in the Hermes emblem at the center.

Would you happen to know if any of the earlier scarves of this design were printed without the accent grave over the second e in Hermes Paris?
