002358S09

Designer : Bali BARRET

Year : Fall 2006, Sp 2012

Cash Silk 140cm in 2007 and 2012

From hermes.com

“Is this a horse decorated with scarves, a figure in a cubist painting, or is the animal clad in a full coat of armor? In fact, the A Cheval Sur Mon Carré scarf is a composite of many silk Hermès scarves to provide the steed with this beautiful ceremonial attire. It reminds us of certain medieval illuminated manuscripts or of Japanese engravings depicting horses swathed in brocade. All chosen for their equestrian décors, these signature scarves recount the history of the Hermès and symbolize its tradition over the years. Perhaps you will recognize the designs:  - “Carrousel”  by Christiane Vauzelles - “Saumur” - “Les Courses” by Yvan Benoîst-Gironière - “La Ronde des Jockeys” by Françoise de la Perrière”

Note: 2006 issues are tonal in colouring.    2012 issues are more colourful and the “horse” features a rainbow tail.
